I have worked with Allyson many times professionally at a local venue and was so excited when she approached me to photograph her wedding. It is always such a compliment when people who are in the industry choose you. It will be a special day for so many reasons but for Picturesque, it will be my second shooter’s (and husband’s) last wedding before he retires from photography. It’ll be bitter sweet for me!

We set the engagement session for April, knowing full well that Oklahoma weather is crazy during the spring months. We figured we’d give it a shot anyway. The week before, and even two days before, there was a chance of rain up to 90%. We were so close to rescheduling but per my rule, we decided to wait until 24 hours before the shoot to make a final decision. I am SO glad we didn’t reschedule because we had a gorgeous 75 degree day with mostly sunny skies. Some clouds rolled in at the end but that’s it.

Allyson had a few areas in mind for possible engagement session locations and ended up going with Spain Ranch because she has a love for exotic animals, including highland cattle. Guess who happens to have a couple (and a buffalo)?! That’s right, Spain Ranch! Not only do they have not one, but two gorgeous barns and a pond/grounds that are to die for, but they are an actual ranch as well. I’m so glad the cattle shots worked out! Scroll to see them all!
