A couple times a year, we photograph weddings outside of Tulsa and this was our second time in three months to travel to Muskogee for two sister’s weddings. It is always such a compliment when a family member comes back to you for photos! I first met Joanna and Austin at her sister’s wedding in December and I thought they were the sweetest couple! We photographed their engagement session in January on one of the coldest days that I can remember (click here to see the session). After that, I knew they were sweet to their core. They didn’t complain once about the bitter cold and didn’t even make fun of my hat hair while shooting. 🙂 Here are a few of my favorite shots of the day. Congrats, you two!

We arrived for the wedding a bit early. (I have a phobia of being late so we had to sit in the parking lot for 45 minutes before anyone showed up…don’t worry, Heath is used to it.) Once we arrived, we immediately started photographing reception details as it was already set up and ready to go. Once the couple arrived we went into bridal details and getting ready photos.
The ceremony!
Joanna’s brother’s did all of the music during the ceremony. How cool is that to have that sort of talent in the family?!
The poor flower girl dropped her basket so she took a moment to clean up the petals. 🙂
This has to be my favorite shot that Heath took all day. I love this moment between the father and the bride just before walking her down the aisle. You can see the groom waiting outside the door.

The reception!
We stopped by a local park after the grand exit for some portraits of the bride and groom. They were headed to Dallas that night so we wanted to make sure and get some great shots, but I didn’t want to take up their whole evening as well. I really loved getting to do this because it was almost like a “day after” session. We weren’t pressed for time as far as getting to a reception so we all were more relaxed. The sun was still a little high for my taste when we first started so I back lit them by this gorgeous pond and got some nice high key portraits.
Then I found this redbud tree and literally could not stop shooting. I love Spring in Oklahoma!
