I know I write this every year but 2017 really was one for the books. I had the pleasure of meeting couples from many cultures and walks-of-life. That’s really my favorite part of this job – the relationships that I am able to form with the people I photograph. These couples are not only trusting me to document their memories but also are giving me the opportunity to do what I love on a daily basis. The families I photograph become a part of my family. I invite them into my home studio (sometimes, in circumstances where they are out of school, they meet my children),..I feel it’s only fitting since they invite me to be intimately a part of their family during the wedding day. Here is a recap of my 2017!

Allyson + Brodie

We kicked off the year at The Mayo Hotel (the same place we shot their engagement session) for Allyson and Brodie’s winter wedding and, oh my goodness, it was gorgeous. An ice storm moved in the night before which made for some lovely photos! The couple braved the cold and I’m so glad that they did! The ring shot was taken on an iced over plant outside of the hotel…one of my favorites this year!

Ashley and Aaron

Ashley and I hit it off from the moment we met and are now such great friends! By the time the wedding arrived, I had photographed her three times (including their engagement session at Picturesque Studios) so she was a pro at my posing styles. My instagram #2017bestnine included three photos of this girl! Their January wedding was at The Mayo Hotel and it fit her and Aaron’s personalities perfectly.

Mia + Calvin

Mia and Calvin’s Dresser Mansion wedding was so gorgeous with the gold Art Deco theme. It matched the mansion perfectly! These two booked me just a couple weeks before the wedding and I’m so glad that they did – it was so much fun! As a bonus, I got to work with some great vendors on this wedding as well!

Hannah + Stephen

Hannah and Stephen’s Christ the King and The Bond wedding stands out because it’s the first time I have shot a reception at The Bond. It was so pretty with all the twinkling lights and marquee letters from LionsRoad. These two did their first look on the rooftop of the Mayo Hotel and it was perfect. Such a fun couple and family!

Maegan + Mitchell

Mitchell proposed to Maegan at the Philbrook (also where we did their engagement photos) and were married at Dresser Mansion in May. Maegan is an attorney and had the event planned to a T. Everything was perfect!

Kaleigh + Owen

It had been several months since I had shot a wedding at the gorgeous Spain Ranch so I was excited to get back there for Kaleigh and Owen’s wedding. Daniel Weir outdid himself with the florals and draping with this one too! I loved getting to know each other at their engagement session and meeting their families at the wedding!

Stephanie + Brent

Stephanie and Brent are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. We had to split up their engagement session to two days because a storm popped up in the middle of the first day and they completely rolled with it. Their wedding at The Silo Event Center was the perfect country setting to fit their style!

Katie + Jonathan

Katie and Jonathan’s engagement session at Woodward Park was so sweet that I knew that the wedding would be too. I wasn’t prepared for how fun the reception would be though! They had The Mayo Hotel rocking! And the first look at Asbury United Methodist Church was one for the books (for the record, he cried when she walked down the aisle too).

Rachel + Mahdi

Rachel and Mahdi booked about 6 weeks before the wedding but we rushed in their engagement session before the big day. The wedding at Doubletree at Warren Place was such a heart-felt day between both families. They even had a custom rap song to start their reception! These two were a joy to work with.

Patti + Eric

Patti and Eric’s ceremony was at Christ the King and their reception was at the Bond. I loved shooting getting ready photos at the Ambassador as well! Probably one of my favorite shots of the year was this one with Patti’s flower girl. It was such a fun day with a fun couple!

Jessica + Adam

Jessica and Adam had one of the few weddings of the year that I shot by myself (without my second shooter) but Golf Club of Oklahoma was the perfect location for this. I could just hop on a golf cart and head from one spot to the next without skipping a beat. All day, Jessica and Adam treated me like family. I just love them!

Valerie + Michael

Michael is Meterologist for Channel 6 here in Tulsa so we headed to a super picturesque location for their engagement session. These are some of my favorite images of the year!

Valerie and Michael had such a beautiful wedding at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tulsa. It was such an emotional day for both families and a joy to be a part of!

Shelby + Justin

We finished out the year with a bang with Shelby and Justin’s Holy Family and The Mayo Hotel wedding. There were floral installations, ice sculptures and confetti canons…just to name a few of my favorite things. The best part was how amazing these two were to work with. It was a busy day with lots of moving parts but with the hard work of Shelby and the Mayo staff, it went off without a hitch!
